5 Cool Smoke Tricks Each That You Can Do with Your E-Nail, Pipe, or Dab Rig

If you want to up your smoking game, nothing is better than learning a new smoke trick. However, smoke tricks require dedication and practice, but that’s why it’s so impressive when you finally pull one off in front of your friends. Even if you just want to develop a new skill for yourself, there are some impressive tricks you can try, and we’re gonna be sharing what they are when using an e-nailpipe, and dab rig.

Smoke Tricks for Your Device of Choice!

Before we get into these, remember folks, take your time and really practice these, and we’re certain you’ll feel and look like a pro in no time – and maybe just in time for that next gathering, when you can show off your new skills.

E-Nail

Using an e-nail is a gamechanger – instantly automating the process of lighting your nail or banger so that you no longer need to use a torch. Plus, the good thing about an e-nail is that it still gives you the luscious, concentrated vapor that hits the spot – and makes it uniquely easy to pull off some of the most impressive smoke tricks. If you’re ready to develop your smoke trick game, here are some cool tricks to try.

E-Nail Smoke Trick #1: The Lasso

With the lasso, you’re essentially blowing two O-rings to make them look like they’re joined to one another. So, it starts with the mastering of blowing o’s. First, when you inhale, keep the vapor in your throat instead of drawing it into the lungs. If you cough the first few times, that’s okay. Now, move your tongue to the back of your throat, pointing it down. Shape your mouth into an “o”, with your lips sticking out, and pretend you’re making an “ooh” sound. The vapor should come out in rings.

Now, blow a large ring and push it with your hand quickly to make it larger. Quickly blow out a smaller ring so that it lands into the center of the first one. As it moves through, it will look like a lasso.

E-Nail Smoke Trick #2: The Bending “O”

Blow a ring with your hand cupped against the side of your face. As the ring juts out into the air, use your hand to caress the side of the ring so that its shape bends. This takes practice, but eventually you’ll be able to manipulate the ring to distort its shape on command.

Once you’ve got this skill down, you can continue to develop your talents with manipulating smoke rings as you desire. Get creative and explore different shapes, like a heart by chopping your hand halfway down the top of the circle. The possibilities are endless.

E-Nail Smoke Trick #3: Shotgun

This is a trick that can be done with another person, and it’s both impressive and economical. When you’re ready to inhale, cup your hands around the outside of your mouth, and have the other person do the same. Then, blow the vapor directly into their mouth. Given the closeness of your mouth with the other person, and the hygiene factor, you might want to save it for someone you’re really close with, and, to be fair, it’s a great way to give a hint to a romantic interest.

E-Nail Smoke Trick #4: The Bull Ring

The bull ring is another 2-person trick that’s not as intimate as the last one. Once you’ve nailed smoke rings, ask someone to sit about 1 foot away from you, facing you. Now, blow a smoke ring directly toward them, and as it approaches them, have them inhale through their nose. For a second, it will look like they have a bull ring – or, a septum piercing, if you will – and makes for a great photo op. This can take practice since a bit of coordination is involved, but overall, it’s well worth trying, since it’s as fun to do with another person as it is for everyone else to watch.

E-Nail Smoke Trick #5: The Tornado

Back to the solo tricks, there’s the tornado, which is a rarer one that’s great if your friends think that they’ve seen it all. Again, just like when blowing a smoke ring, you want to keep the vapor in your throat rather than drawing it into the lungs. Then, when you’re ready to exhale, place your lips onto a flat surface like a table, and exhale. The smoke will sit on the surface of the table, and what you’ll need to do is sweep your hand through the cloud horizontally before bringing the hand upward in a swift motion. For a second it will look like a tornado as it swirls around. Just make sure there aren’t any fans or open windows, as even a slight breeze means that the trick won’t work. If the smoke starts twisting upwards, then you’ve done it right, and you’re ready to debut this trick at your next gathering.

Pipe

Yes, smoke tricks can seem intimidating to beginners, or you might think that you can only do one with something that outputs a ton of smoke, like a bong. But you can do a smoke trick with anything you want, including the simplest of spoon pipes. So, here are our favorites.

Pipe Smoke Trick #1: The Dragon

The dragon may have an intimidating name, but it’s actually one of the easiest smoke tricks you can possibly do. Its name comes from the way in which the smoke comes out the nostrils, reminiscent of our images of dragons exhaling.

First, take a lot of smoke into your mouth at once, and don’t draw it into the lungs. Keeping it in the mouth can be tricky at first, and may make you cough, but you will develop a tolerance to that with practice, so don’t be discouraged if you cough the smoke out the first few times. Now, forcefully push the smoke out of your nostrils, while at the same time closing just the center of your mouth so that it’s open on either side.

Pipe Smoke Trick #2: Liquid Mist

Another surprisingly simple smoke trick is liquid mist, and this one does involve a prop, but trust us – it’s totally worth it. Grab a glass of cold water that’s no higher than two inches from the top, as you’ll need the space to hold your smoke.

Now, take in a nice amount of smoke and inhale. Keep the glass a couple of inches in front of you on a stable surface like a table. To exhale, place your lips against the rim of the glass, as though you were about to drink. Instead, slowly exhale the smoke, making a point to direct it into the cold water – the keyword being cold, as that’s important. The smoke will sit at the top of the water, and as long as you don’t move the glass, it’ll stay there for an impressive length of time.

Pipe Smoke Trick #3: Mushroom Cloud

The Mushroom Cloud smoke trick is a popular and visually impressive technique often used by experienced smokers. Initally, you need to light your pipe and take a deep inhale, filling your lungs with smoke. Begin by slowly exhaling a thick cloud of smoke from your mouth. The key here is to release the smoke smoothly and steadily, not too fast or too slow. You need a dense and compact cloud of smoke to form the base of the mushroom cloud. As you're finishing your slow exhale, sharply and quickly suck a small amount of air back in through your mouth. This action pulls the bottom of the smoke cloud back towards you, creating a thinner, rising column of smoke, which will act as the ‘stem’ of the mushroom.

Once you have the stem, you need to expand the top part of the smoke to create the cap of the mushroom. This can be achieved by using your hand to gently tap or flick the side of the smoke stem upwards. The disturbance causes the smoke to billow outwards, forming the mushroom cap.

Pipe Smoke Trick #4: The Jellyfish

The jellyfish is easily the most difficult trick on our list, but so worth it. First, you will need to master smoke rings, which take some practice. To blow a smoke ring, you need to draw smoke into your mouth but rather than inhale it, keep it inside the throat. Then, make an “O” shape with your mouth while holding your tongue against the bottom of your mouth. Purse your lips outward and jut your jaw forward. Now, make a silent “ooh” sound to push the smoke out, and it should, ideally, form the shape of a ring. Again, this takes a lot of practice, so don’t be upset if it takes a while to get right.

Note: When you exhale, push the ring with your palm out in front of you, and the ring will become distorted to take on the appearance of a jellyfish.

Pipe Smoke Trick #5: Double O’s

Once you have mastered smoke rings, you can start having fun with them. One thing that always impresses people is blowing double rings instead of just one. This takes a little more control, by not blowing out all of the smoke with the first ring. Save enough in your mouth to quickly do a second ring after the first. And eventually you can start doing triples.

Dab Rig

There is a big misconception that smoke tricks can only be done with, well, smoke, but the truth is that dabbing is just as conducive to showing off those impressive skills, with even less harshness that gets in the way of your practice game. If you would like to start doing some smoke tricks with your favorite dab rig setup, then here are some ideas.

Dab Rig “Smoke” Trick #1: French Inhale

The French inhale is a classic trick that never gets old. First, you want to draw a good amount of vapor into your mouth, but never bring it down into the lungs. Instead, keep it in the mouth. When you’re ready to exhale, open your mouth up only a little bit, and as you blow out the vapor, you’ll inhale through the nose. This way, it looks like an upside-down waterfall effect.

Dab Rig “Smoke” Trick #2: Waterfall

The waterfall trick does require a prop, but the results are well worth it. First, you will need a 1-liter or so bottle that has frozen water at the bottom. So, prepare your bottle ahead of time by filling it about a quarter way with water and sticking it in the freezer. Take it out right before you’re ready to perform the trick.

Now, the key is blowing your vapor into the mouth of the bottle. Then, pour the vapor out of the bottle onto a surface. When the vapor mixes with the frozen water, it moves more slowly and takes longer to dissipate. The result is a waterfall effect that sustains itself for longer than it would without the frozen liquid. The vapor will remain on the surface you poured it onto for an impressively long period of time as well.

Dab Rig “Smoke” Trick #3: The Ghost

The Ghost is actually the easiest trick for any beginner, and a great way to get into the habit of really controlling your exhales. First, draw in a nice amount of thick vapor and keep it in the mouth rather than inhaling it. Then, quickly draw your lips into an “O” shape, slightly jutting the lips out, and close your mouth instantly. That vapor will be forced to come out in the shape of a ball, based on the controlled opening and closing of your mouth. Just make sure not to force the vapor out, but rather let it fall our naturally.

Dab Rig “Smoke” Trick #4: Bane Inhale

Bane Inhale is a unique one as what you do is take a deep inhalation from your dab rig first, and then place your hand over your mouth, leaving a small gap. Exhale the smoke into your hand. As the smoke pools in your hand, inhale sharply through your nose, creating a Bane (from Batman) mask effect. Ensure the gap between your hand and mouth is small enough to contain the smoke but large enough for it to be inhaled through your nose. Also, practice timing your exhale and inhale to maintain the visual effect.

Dab Rig “Smoke” Trick #5: Triangle

To perform the triangle smoke trick with a dab rig, you will need a bit of skill with manipulating smoke and creating shapes using your hands. Try to take a moderate to large hit, as you'll need a good amount of smoke to perform the trick. After taking a hit, hold the smoke in your lungs for a few seconds. This allows the smoke to cool slightly, making it denser and easier to manipulate. Start by exhaling a thick, steady stream of smoke to form a large, flat "O" shape with your lips. You may need to practice this part if you're not used to creating specific shapes with smoke.

After blowing the flat "O", quickly use your hands to shape the smoke. Place your index fingers and thumbs together to form a triangle. Move your hands slowly and carefully around the smoke ring, shaping it into a triangle. This part requires precision and timing, as smoke tends to dissipate quickly. As the smoke begins to form into a triangle, you may need to adjust the positioning of your fingers slightly to maintain the shape. The key here is gentle movements to avoid dispersing the smoke.

Practice Makes Perfect with These Impressive Smoke Tricks!

Smoke tricks require dedication and practice, but that’s why it’s so impressive when you finally pull one off in front of your friends. Even if you just want to develop a new skill for yourself, try any of these tricks the next time you take a dab hit and see what happens.
