How to Improve the Vaporization of Concentrates in Your Banger
In an ideal world, each dab hit provides a silky smooth n’ rich stream of flavorful vapor that’s as potent as it is delicious. But, as we know, things can go wrong, and our dab hits can let us down for all kinds of reasons, including the equipment we’re using, the methods we employ and the dabs themselves.
Luckily, if your dabs aren’t vaporizing properly, it’s likely that there is an easy fix that will give you the dreamy plumes of vapor you’ve been dreaming of at last.
Tip #1: Try Using a Carb Cap
First off, if you haven’t yet, start using a carb cap. Many dabbers consider a carb cap an absolutely essential component to any dabbing session. It’s a small cap that fits over the banger while you’re pulling in, to concentrate the vapor and bring down the pressure in the banger. What this does is offer thicker clouds at a lower temperature, to get more flavor and potency each time you inhale. A carb cap is one of the simplest way to help your concentrates vaporize more effectively and in a way that’s more conducive to pure dabbing bliss.
Tip #2: Lower the Temperature
A big mistake that a lot of beginners make is thinking that the higher the temperature, the better. The reality is that if you’re dabbing with a banger that’s too hot, you could be damaging the terpenes that carry the flavor and keep the vapor nice and smooth. Try going to somewhere around 550 degrees, and then see what happens. Likely, the vapor fill be richer, and you’ll notice less harshness since you’re not burning certain compounds by mistake.
Tip #3: Get Yourself an E-Nail
Sometimes, poor vaporization is caused by human error when actually heating your banger. Using a torch comes with its perks, but the problem is that it’s too easy to get our banger too hot, or not give it enough time to cool, since we’re not computers who can repeat the exact process over and over again. So, an e-nail may be the solution to your problems. An e-nail is an electronic rig attachment that allows you to set your banger to a precise temperature that is reached each time, and it lets you know when it’s time to load your concentrates in and go for a nice, big dab hit.
Tip #4: Use Some Terp Pearls
Terp pearls are another cool accessory that can do wonders for your dabbing session, much like a carb cap. They’re little pearls that you place in your banger before heating it, and when you inhale, you get to enjoy watching them spin around. What they’re actually doing is moving the dabs around the inside of the banger so that they’re enjoying more even heat, and never staying in one place long enough to burn. This greatly improves the entire vaporization process by allowing more of your concentrate to be converted into vapor rather than burning or turning into waste. Terp pearls are easy to find, inexpensive and pretty much have zero drawbacks of any kind, making them a no-brainer if you’re looking for a better vaporization experience.
Tip #5: Maintain Your Rig
A common issue is using a dirty rig, which is never going to give you the ideal vaporization because of restricted airflow. That resin gunk that accumulates, including reclaim, can, over time, start to disrupt the airflow channel in a way that interferes with the concentrate’s ability to vaporize fully. Besides that, old resin gunk can cause a poor flavor that gets in the way of your ability to thoroughly enjoy your concentrates. Clean your rig at least once a week to solve this problem.
Tip #6: Use Fresh and Top-Quality Concentrates
With low quality or old concentrates, you’re never going to get the vapor you’re looking for. Concentrates dry out and lose their flavor as well as their potency over time, and they may struggle to vaporize if their moisture level isn’t just right. Besides that, cheap dabs that are made with poor plant material, or created using subpar extraction methods, can have textures and consistencies that just aren’t conducive to turning into smooth and luscious clouds.
Tip #7: Reduce the Amount You’re Loading into Your Banger
Overloading your banger is going to cause major airflow problems since there’s nowhere for the air to travel, and this can restrict the vaporization process to the point of leaving you with a whole lot of wasted concentrate, and next to no vapor. So, try adding less to your banger next time, and see what happens.
