THC-P is a newly discovered cannabinoid in hemp that’s already made a huge splash on the market. THC-P is protected by federal law thanks to the passing of the Farm Bill in 2018, which made all hemp products containing a maximum of 0.3% delta 9 legal.

Is THC-P Intoxicating?

THC-P is the most intoxicating cannabinoid on the market. The compound binds to CB1 receptors in the brain at 31 times the rate of delta 9. Basically, this means that it acts on the part of the brain that responds to psychoactive substances much more powerfully than delta 9 THC.

Is THC-P Dangerous?

Because THC-P is so powerfully psychoactive, you’ll want to clear your schedule before taking it as you will be quite intoxicated. But, in spite of that, it’s not known to be a dangerous cannabinoid in any regard. It’s a naturally occurring, nontoxic compound that hasn’t been shown to cause any real harm to humans.

Will THC-P Put Me to Sleep?

THC-P may cause some “sleepy” effects, while other people find that it causes a powerful burst of euphoria. A lot of these effects seem to be dose-dependent, and also dependent on whether or not you’re using a THC-P product that comes in a specific strain. Overall, it’s best to take THC-P at nighttime as a beginner in case you feel drowsy.

Can THC-P Be a Good Choice for a THC Beginner?

If you’ve never taken a psychoactive hemp derivative before, we don’t recommend starting with THC-P. Your tolerance will simply be too low to the psychoactive properties, which can make you feel more high than you are comfortable with. Instead, we recommend starting with delta 8 THC or delta 10 THC and working your way up to THC-P.

How is THC-P Different from Delta 9?

Besides the fact that THC-P is far more psychoactive than delta 9 THC, it’s also more powerful when it comes to its other properties that may impact nausea, mood, appetite and more. Overall, researchers believe that it offers similar effects to delta 9, but only stronger.

Can THC-P Cause Side Effects?

THC-P is not associated with any major side effects, and no serious side effects have been reported so far. But, any time you take cannabinoids, especially in high dosage amounts, you may experience temporary, mild effects like the following:

  • Dry mouth/dry eyes
  • Lightheadedness
  • Drowsiness
  • Reduced blood pressure/increased heart rate

Can THC-P Make Me Paranoid?

If you’re sensitive to the overall effects of THC compounds, THC-P may cause feelings of anxiety or paranoia that commonly result from getting too intoxicated. These feelings are usually very short-lived, and no real cause for concern. To avoid this, we recommend starting with a very low amount of product when you first start taking it.

How Much THC-P Should I Take?

When it comes to dosing, it’s best for beginners to start low and slow, as they build up a tolerance. In general, you should follow the instructions on the package, which will tell you the appropriate amount of THC-P to take for the best results.

Will THC-P Help Me with Physical Discomfort?

THC-P’s effects related to physical discomfort are still being explored. But, so far, the results are promising. Most people take THC-P for its psychoactive properties, but many people report that it offers some level of relief from physical discomfort.

Is THC-P Safe to Take with CBD?

There’s no reason to not take THC-P with CBD. These two cannabinoids do not have a negative interaction with one another. CBD can actually mellow out the high of THC-P, and that effect might be desirable to those who aren’t ready for the full THC-P experience.
